Referees from across all levels of the TTRA have been rewarded for their commitment, consistency, and performance throughout the year, with grand final appointments made across all eleven grades.
In the marquee Colliers Shield Men’s 1st Grade decider, Lachlan Carey, Michael Littlefield, and Kerrod Hall have been appointed to officiate the clash between Brothers and Redskins. All three officials are highly experienced, with each having officiated at national and international level. Hall, who is also the current TTRA President, said the appointments reflected the strength and depth of Townsville’s referee ranks.
“These appointments aren’t just a reward for a single performance,” Hall said.
“They’re the result of a full season of effort — training, development, leadership, and consistency across the board.”
The Colliers Shield Women’s 1st Grade grand final will be controlled by Denise Weier, Bailey Sloman, and Ella Henningsen. Weier, who was named Leading Female Referee for 2025, returns for another top-tier appointment, while Henningsen will make her Women’s 1st Grade debut following a standout season.
In the Men’s 2nd Grade final between Rum Runners and Brothers, experienced referees Chris Benstead, Jack Driehuis, and Dylan Carey have been selected. All three have featured prominently in senior first-grade appointments throughout the year and bring strong leadership and on-field presence to the role.
Several young referees were also recognised for their standout year behind the whistle. The titles of Leading Junior Male and Female Referees were awarded to Max Driehuis and Shanae Fitzgerald, respectively, while the titles of Leading Male and Female Youth Referees went to Jack Driehuis and Ella Henningsen, both of whom also received appointments to high-ranking grand finals.
Referee coaches and senior referees will be present across the day to support officials and celebrate their achievements, with the TTRA acknowledging the contribution of every referee who has officiated during the 2025 Colliers Shield season.
The TTRA congratulates all referees on their appointments and extends its thanks to all members for their ongoing commitment and service to the game.
